Oratorical Contest

High School students from grades 9-12 speak before audiences to demonstrate their knowledge of our United States Constitution. All students may compete in successive years against other high school students.

Competitions are scheduled sequentially at local county, district, zone and state levels. State winners move on to the national contest held annually in Indianapolis, IN at American Legion Headquarters.

There are also monetary awards for the winners at each level, and national winners receive substantial scholarship awards.

All schools here in Nassau County, NY will be notified of the contest beginning on September 5th, opening day for the Fall 2024 term.
